PROGRAMS: LOBBY DAYS

IWLA participates in organized lobby days at the State Capitol in Olympia. IWLA members join other nature conservation-minded organizations in an effort to ensure our representatives are informed of key conservation issues, to demonstrate to their constituents that they really do care, and to remind them that we will be holding them accountable for their decisions.

In January 2001, IWLA participated in the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition's (WWRC) Lobby Day to encourage our representatives to vote in favor of the proposed appropriations for the upcoming biennium. These funds will be allocated to state and local agencies for new state and local parks, trails, water access sites, critical wildlife habitat, natural areas and urban wildlife habitat.
