PROGRAMS The Greater Seattle Chapter of IWLA has been involved in
several projects at a local level that are making a difference. The
following is just a sample of current and past projects, with links for
more information: Outdoor Environmental Education: Encouraging Conservation through Education and Awareness. Non-profit fly fishing and basic hunting lessons for kids and adults. Learn from experienced outdoorsmen and women and gain an in-depth appreciation for our outdoor heritage. Sammamish Slough Maintenance: Hands-on project clearing trees and shrubs from the Sammamish Slough to promote better fish habitat. Rachel Lake Trail Maintenance: Trail maintenance project in cooperation with Washington Trails Association. Lobby Days: Organized lobbying days in Olympia to encourage our representatives to vote in favor of conservation. Washington Outdoor Women: Women teaching women outdoor skills from fly fishing to shooting to survival to wildlife ID. Forbes Creek Restoration: Hands-on project to restore an abused and threatened salmon spawning stream. Annual Picnic & Auction: Our yearly get together to celebrate the year's successes and raise funds for the next year's.
