Dear On
behalf of the Greater Seattle Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, this
letter is a request for your support of the non-profit conservation work
we are doing here in the Northwest.
Our
chapter holds an annual auction to offset the costs of supporting our
work. Funds raised at this auction go a long ways toward supplying our
work parties and toward organizational expenses for our local chapter.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated! Founded
in 1922, the Izaak Walton League of America is the oldest national
conservation organization in the United States.
Fifty-thousand strong, the league’s mission is: "To
conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water
and other natural resources of the United States and other lands,
and to promote means and opportunities for the education of the
public with respect to such resources and their enjoyment and
wholesome utilization." Currently
our chapter is active in two stream rehabilitation projects – Forbes
Creek and the Sammamish Slough. We
also lobby our Senators and Representatives in Olympia to keep them
environmentally informed on key issues.
For
more information on our chapter and some of our current projects, and
for a list of local supporters please visit our web site at www.seattleikes.org. The
Seattle chapter is a 501 (c)(3) organization.
Your donations are tax deductible. Thank
you for your support. Item
